This is the invoice format experts use when they bill law firms: an identity block, the invoice meta a bookkeeper needs, the matter details, a line-itemised table of services in tenths of an hour, expenses kept separate from fees, totals, and payment-terms language you can paste as-is.
What is in it
- Page 1 — the invoice. Every bracket is a fill-in. Seven sample line items show what a description that gets approved actually looks like, including an expedited rate with its authorisation cited on the line.
- Payment terms for law firms. Net 30, late-charge wording, where to send payment, and who to call. Written to sit on the invoice itself.
- Page 2 — what attorneys check. The ten things someone at the firm looks for before approving payment, and the two habits that cause silent delays.

The sample uses a legal nurse consultant’s matter; nothing in the format is specific to one discipline.
