TallyHi

Terms of Service

Effective September 10, 2026

The short version: one subscription is one person, it renews until you cancel, the $99 launch price holds as long as you stay subscribed, and your data stays on your Mac. TallyHi is billing software, not legal or accounting advice.

The agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and TallyHi for the TallyHi Mac application, the tallyhi.com website, and the subscription that unlocks the app. By subscribing, installing, or using TallyHi you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

TallyHi was previously distributed under the name NurseBill. These terms apply to both.

Your license

While your subscription is active, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use TallyHi on Macs that you own or control, for your own consulting practice.

  • One subscription is for one user. You may install it on more than one of your own Macs, but you may not share your activation code or let others use it.
  • You may not resell, sublicense, rent, or transfer the license or your activation code to anyone else.
  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or its licensing, except where the law expressly allows it.

Subscription and renewal

TallyHi is sold as a subscription, billed either monthly or annually. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel.
  • Launch price. If you subscribe to the annual plan at the $99 per year launch price, that price stays $99 per year for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. If it lapses or is canceled and you later subscribe again, the price in effect at that time applies.
  • Canceling. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, reachable from the account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then, and you will not be charged again.
  • Founding and complimentary codes. A promotion or founding-user code applied at checkout gives you the free period it describes. When that period ends, the subscription renews at the regular price for your plan unless you cancel first.
  • Price changes. Apart from the launch-price guarantee above, we may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you notice by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect on your subscription.

Refunds

Our refund policy is short:

  • If TallyHi is not right for you, email support@tallyhi.com within 14 days of your first purchase and we will refund it in full.
  • After 14 days, and for renewals, there are no prorated refunds. Cancel to stop future charges; you keep access through the end of the period you paid for.
  • Subscriptions started with a founding or complimentary code are not refundable, because nothing was charged for the free period.

Acceptable use

Use TallyHi only for lawful purposes and only for your own work. Do not use it to send unsolicited bulk email, to interfere with Google's or Stripe's services, or to attempt to bypass activation or billing. You are responsible for the accuracy of the time entries, rates, and invoices you create, and for complying with any rules that govern your own profession.

Your data

Everything you enter in TallyHi, including cases, contacts, billable entries, and invoices, is stored on your Mac. We hold no cloud copy of it and cannot view it. The only things that leave your Mac are the ones you initiate — email you send through your own Google account, and, if you turn on AI assistance, the single email you ask it to draft an entry from — plus the subscription check that keeps your licence current. Our privacy policy explains this in detail.

Because your data lives only on your computer, you are responsible for backing it up. Use Time Machine or another backup of your Mac. If a drive fails or a file is deleted, we cannot recover it for you.

Google services

Connecting a Google account is optional. If you do, your use of Gmail and Google Calendar through TallyHi is also subject to Google's Terms of Service. TallyHi's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect Google at any time from Settings inside the app.

What TallyHi is not

TallyHi is billing software. It is not legal, accounting, or tax advice, and using it does not create any professional relationship with us. You are responsible for the content of your invoices and for your own billing practices.

TallyHi helps you track and invoice your time; it does not guarantee payment by any law firm or client, and we are not a party to your engagements with them.

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TallyHi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or unpaid invoices, arising out of or related to the app or these terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for any claim relating to TallyHi is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published at this address with its effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will let you know by email or inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use TallyHi after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
